Dear Friends ~ The fog and the plan!
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV)
We'd decided to come down off the mountain since we were getting cabin fever crazy. What we encountered was a thick blanket of dense fog descending on the entire valley engulfing everything.
The highway disappeared right before our eye and traffic lights looked like twinkling Christmas lights. What a complete mess. Our surroundings had seemingly changed but we knew the fog would lift; once again we’d find our surroundings as they were before the fog rolled in consuming everything in it's path.
You see, we had to trust the process of the fog just as we have to trust the process of the Lord. At times it doesn’t make sense but knowing His character and nature permits us to trust Him when fog, real life issues, consumes our path.
Jeremiah 29:11 passage brings great courage to the assignment but I often wonder if we've put it to memory and become spiritually dull to it’s truth?
Make no mistake friends, His plans for you are precise, He has meticulously orchestrated every single detail of your life. I’ve doubted and been skeptical of His well defined plan because it just didn’t line up with my plan (LOL). We can’t allow our human intellect to destroy the hope He promises.
In chapter 29 of Jeremiah the Name of God, Jehovah Sabaoth: “Lord of Hosts” is used five (5) times. Overall this Name is used 285 times in the OT. Ya think He intends to make a point? You know that's right!
A closer look at this Name is telling~ (blueletterbible.com)
