Confessions of a Pastors Wife~ Unexpected Interruptions
It was Friday afternoon, I'd basically trashed the dining room and turned it into an office for a weekend paperwork and writing cram session. Still wearing my nasty workout clothes and nappy hair, it would be fair to say my disheveled look could cause concern for a visitor.
Wouldn't you know it, the doorbell rings and we go through the normal calming down of the dog who's gone straight into crazy mode. I found a nice gentleman looking for the infamous B&B now our ministry / home. We chatted about the history of the home and the ministry outreach it has become, the koi pond and the front porch that says, "welcome home y'all." With tears in his eyes he retreated to his car and in a moment he drove away.
Saturday became a repeat of the day before, workout clothes as I hovered over the computer. The ringing doorbell, dog flippin out, same gentleman standing at the door. New twist, this time he's brought his wife. He was so moved by the ministry at Healing Place he wanted his wife to experience it as well. I invited them in for a chat session and tour of this amazing place of refuge. (I'm still in awe that God allows us to participate). We spent an hour talking about how Healing Place came into existence and its purpose. Again emotions rose to the surface, the gentleman held the tears. "I just have chills" we're her words as we made our way out the door.
Why on earth am I telling you this? Interruptions! Interruptions are Gods divine appointments; we must be careful not to miss them as we hurry through our day trying to beat the overloaded schedule.
Be aware of every opportunity to minister to those who cross your path.
“Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”
Hebrews 13:2 NIV
