Confessions of a Pastors Wife ~ Help Me Jesus, It's Monday!
This is for all you people like me who've hit the wall on Monday!
If you're weekend has left you feelin' hung over then we're in good company; let's work toward a new altitude for the most amazing day of the week: Monday. (cheer!)
Monday comes hard and fast, I sometimes wonder if we even had a weekend. Not gonna lie, I wanna lobby for Monday shut downs but I have a feeling I'd just fill it up with something else. What are we going to do to sail into Monday as though it's Friday? (cheer!)
I've found the solution for Mondays! Here we go...
Peter tells us to "gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 1:13 NKJV)
He's reminding us we're on a journey! Let's pace ourselves and we will do well:
We are racer's running a race, warrior's eliminating warfare, followers of Christ pushing through the clutter toward our great calling.
Put on your belt (the Word)! Tuck in those loose garments which is anything that gets in your way like attitude or ungratefulness and run like a mutha to the finish line.
Protect and prepare your mind because your affections are housed there.
Guard your affections, don't let them hang loose and neglected around you.
Let your strength be applied to your mission.
Disconnect from anything that would stop you.
Be intentional in your obedience.
BOOM! There ya have it - Welcome Monday! (cheer!)
