Remember Who You Are ~ Chosen
...the preacher’s wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend (scream)
who I am?
<<<that photo is my screen saver! The repetition forces me to recall my true identity, in Christ. Because I struggle to remember who I am and Whose I am.
Social media has tricked us in to becoming media driven adrenaline junkies hoping to gain acceptance through excessive "likes" or follows. Measuring up to the world’s standard will disappoint us every single time; we'll never gain complete approval. Why do we try so hard to fit in? The truth: If we've decided to follow Jesus with all our heart we're never going to completely "fit in."
Follower of Christ, our true identity is much more precious than likes and follows.
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light."
1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
No matter how you feel or who you used to be or what you're going through, your identity in the Father is who you are for all eternity. Because the instant you accepted His free gift of salvation you became His. Chosen, Prized possession, called out of darkness to live in His Light.
This, is who you are.
