Confessions of a PW ~ Real Peace!
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid"
(John 14:27 NLT)
google.com describes peace as freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility. I don't know about you but my day is usually anything but freedom from disturbance...
In order to accept peace, once the panic button has been hit, we must understand it.
Blueletterbible.org regarding peace:
"of Christianity, the tranquil state of a soul, assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God, and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is"
Peace is the "result of resting in a relationship with God" (Elisa Morgan)
The word peace comes from the Greek word similar to the Hebrew word shalom. It communicates the idea of wholeness, completeness, or a calmness in the soul that is unaffected by outward circumstances or pressures. It strongly suggests internal order instead of chaos which is influenced by an inner stability resulting in peace; especially when traumatic events occur.
A person who is possessed by peace is orderly, unwavering and steady.
"Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of God no matter what the conflict". -Anonymous
